Google ad budget for NGOs

Up to $10 000/month in Google ads. Managed by an agency.

Google gives foundations and associations an advertising budget that renews every month, with no end date. The catch: you need to know how to get it and how to keep it.

What is Google Ad Grants

Your organization does important work, but nobody knows about it.

When someone searches Google for help, they find other organizations, not you. Not because you do worse work. Only because you don't have a budget for ads.

Google gives foundations and associations up to $10 000/month for search ads. Google covers the ad budget. Not a single dollar leaves your organization's account for clicks. Your organization pays the agency for management, not for clicks.

Every month without the grant is a month someone searched for your mission and found someone else.

How it works in practice

When someone types "how to support children from low-income families" or "volunteer in Warsaw" into Google, your ad appears at the top of the results. The user lands directly on your website. Google charges the click from the grant pool, and your organization spends zero of its own funds.

Google Search results

When someone types "how to support a foundation", "volunteer", or "fundraiser for children", your ad appears at the top of the page. Before anyone reaches your competitors.

YouTube

YouTube is owned by Google. That means your ads also appear on YouTube at no extra cost. 2.7 billion users search there for help, inspiration, and ways to get involved.

Platforms using Google

Hundreds of websites and apps use Google's search engine. Your mission reaches all of them: one account, same budget, no additional fees.

All the work is on our side

  • Know where every donor comes from — We set up conversion tracking. You know exactly how many people land on your site from ads and what they do after clicking.
  • Your mission reaches people actively searching for help — We build ads that reach donors, volunteers, and beneficiaries at the moment they're searching on Google.
  • No risk of losing the grant due to technical errors — We make sure the grant works every month without the risk of suspension. We monitor the account continuously. That's our responsibility, not yours.
  • A report your board can actually read — Every month you receive a results summary in plain language. You know what's working, no chart interpretation needed.

Google funds the advertising budget up to $10 000/month. Not a single dollar from your organization goes toward ads. We price grant management individually, after a free eligibility check.

Does your website need rebuilding before the grant starts?

Outdated technology or commercial ads on your site can block access to the Google grant. If your website needs rebuilding before the grant starts, we'll handle it as a separate project.

Learn more about the AI-ready Website Website rebuilding is a separate service. It is not a condition for Ad Plus managing your Google Ad Grants.

What's allowed and what's not. Grant rules.

Before we start, it's worth knowing where Google draws the line. Below are the most important rules in plain language.

Your website
Status Topic What it means
Mission descriptions, programs, organization history Describe your activities freely. That's exactly what Google wants to see.
Donation collection form A page with a donation option is not just permitted, it's encouraged
! Foundation merchandise shop (T-shirts, calendars) Allowed when the shop is not the main purpose of the site and profits go to the mission
! Paid workshops or services aligned with the statute Possible when clearly tied to the mission and included in the annual report
Third-party advertising banners on the site Any commercial advertising on the site = automatic rejection by Google
Affiliate links (shops, hotels, portals) Links for which the organization receives a commission disqualify the site
What you can use the ads for
Status Ad goal Example
Mission and program promotion "Help children from orphanages — volunteer in Warsaw"
Volunteer recruitment "Become a hospice volunteer — join us"
Fundraising and charitable giving "Support the shelter — donate online"
Education and public information "How to recognize depression in a teenager — free guide"
Advertising products or paid services "Buy our cream — 10% goes to the foundation" — prohibited even with good intent
Political or electoral campaigns Grant accounts may not conduct any political activity
Key rule: The grant funds only mission promotion, not sales. As long as ads lead to mission-related content (volunteering, donations, programs, education), the organization is on the safe side. We monitor this continuously so you can focus on what matters.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to activate the grant?
From application to first campaign: 3-6 weeks. Verification with Google's partner takes 3-5 business days, and Google's own approval takes another 3-5 days.
What happens if the grant is suspended?
We make sure that doesn't happen. We monitor the account continuously. If the account is still suspended, we file a reinstatement request and most accounts are restored within 10 days.
